Each
year thousands of visitors come to Center West Virginia to
witness the rugged beauty of the landscape, to experience the
excitement of rafting the New and Gauley Rivers, to seek the
thrills of climbing our rock walls, the serenity of fishing
our lakes and streams or boating on Summerville Lake's 66 miles
of crystal blue waters. This is just the beginning of our adventure
for there is always one more stop that must be made...

Whitewater Rafting |
Good
Evening Ranch is also in close proximity to the Best Whitewater
Rafting in the East. A short drive to the New River, which
is rafted nearly year round and only minutes from Summersville
Lake and the Gauley River. In the fall, the lake releases
its water and fills the Gauley making it a whitewater run
of World renown.

Rock Climbing and Rappelling |
 |
Central West Virginia
has become internationally famous over the past few years
for the enormous number of vertical cliffs
with some of the most accessible and yet challenging rock
climbing and rappelling in the United States.
Cliffs range from 30 ft - 80 ft in height and the walls range
from slightly overhanging to extremely overhanging,
providing enjoyable face climbs and overhanging routes with
horizontal edges, pockets, and jugs.

New River Bridge |
Arching gracefully across the New River, the bridge has the world's 2nd longest single arch steel span. At 876 feet above the New River, it is the second highest bridge in this country. Only the Royal Gorge Bridge over the Arkansas River in Colorado is higher.
On the third Saturday in October, the New River Gorge Bridge
is open to pedestrians, where a variety of activities draw
up to a quarter of a million people. Great views, organized
walks, parachuting and rappelling demonstrations, music,
and a variety of vendors are all part of the Bridge Day events. |

Biking |
 |
In Southern West Virginia you can find and have easy access to some of the most challenging and diverse mountain biking in the Eastern United States. The Good Evening Ranch is in close proximity to the Monongahela National Forest, New River National Recreation Area and the Gauley River National Recreation Area. |
